So The Alarm celebrate their coming together every year.
Like an birthday party for themselves every year. Hell why tour when people will make a pilgrimage to you?
Sounds harsh but its true.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of The Alarm and are they packing their shaving kits and hair (*note I would have said hair spray but I think we actually have some weaves up there), are they?
No.
They are staying home for The Gathering, an annual reunion in Prestatyn, Denbighshire
This year presale tickets for over 1500 to see The Alarm as well as Big Country and former Sex Pistol Glen Matlock’s band, The Philistines.
Mike Peters, front man of the Alarm states;
“Instead of us going out on the road, we’re the ones staying at home and they are the ones travelling from Japan, America, Australia and all over to be at Prestatyn. We have a great community around the band that has survived all the changes of the past 30 years”
“I was born here and The Alarm was born here.
“The band played its first gig 30 years ago just 100 yards away from where we’ll be playing this weekend and that’s a special thing for us and the band’s fans.”
Pretty confidently cool if you ask me.
