Two years after Lily had a miscarriage, packed it in, got married, had a baby, and got pregnant again, it sure feels like one of the 21st Century's first big time stars is getting the itch to get in the game.
Lily felt like Amy Winehous's twin for the longest time, a heading for disaster genius who was to pop what AMy was to soul: simply light yuears ahead of the competition, but crazed, and unsteady, and waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I saw Lily at T5 around the release of the second record, and found myself pushed and shoved to the front of the stage. It was a remarkable performance with Lily kicking off her heels and the tiny woman a spitfire of energy and power. A great show. But then nothing. No album # 3. Not a sausage. Sod all.
But there have been hints and allegations and, Monday night, at a private gig for Sony in L.A. Pink invited Lily on stage to duet on "True Love" -I'm guessing the Cole Porter classic. The song is on Pink's upcoming album and apparently the 5 month old Lily is having a much easier time of it as she not only made the commute from London to L.A. with baby Ethel and husband Sam. She did so in heels.
" ''It was great, felt strange being back on stag again but Pink made me feel at ease. Really enjoyed myself though. Can't wait to get back out there.''
