Lennon Note The Day Before He Died Gets $154K

As the days tick by to what would’ve been John Lennon’s 70th birthday, Lennon memorabilia is going through the roof.
According to contacmusic.com: “The day before his death, Lennon had borrowed a guitar string from another band while recording at the Record Plant Studio in the Big Apple. He returned the next day and gave an autograph to one of the studio’s sound technicians, writing, “For Karl, who strung me along, thanx, John Lennon, 1980.”
I think of all the sad things about this stories, the saddest is even when just giving an autograph, Lennon couldn’t stop himself from being a smartie pants.
