The Left Banke To Reform? By Mike Nessing

Tom Finn, an original member of The Left Banke, maintains an official page on Facebook that can be accessed here-http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/LeftBanke

Recently, there have been some mysterious posts that seem to hint that a reunion of the influential 60’s baroque-pop outfit is in the early stages. Tom posted a picture from the drivers seat of his car in Times Square “on the way to Left Banke rehersals”, and just nine hours ago, Tom posted this-
“OK, Let me just say this, it’s way too early to make an official announcement, but
stick around, it looks like there may be some exciting news coming your way shortly.
I can’t spill the beans yet. Nothing good comes easy. But stand by, and you’ll be the first to know. (TF)”
Any kind of celebration of this band’s glorious music would be welcomed by this writer, but the more you think about it, the more it tantalizes. Is lead singer Steve Martin Caro involved? Is it even possible that the bands most famous recluse and “Walk Away, Ren’ee” songwriter Michael Brown has finally come out from the shadows to work with the band again? Even without Brown, The Left Banke made some glorious music but to have him involved here would almost be too much to ask for.
Either way, it would appear that sometime in the near future we will be witnessing some sort of partial rebirth at the very least of NYC’s own Left Banke. Stay tuned…
