This is Todd Leibowitz’s fault.
I was happily hating Kings Of Leon. I had hated “Use Somebody” and “Sex On fire” and hated the new song “Radioactive” and was in full grown KOL is pigeon shit mode when Todd burnt Come Around Sundown and I love more songs on it than on the new Old 97’s and Taylor Swift… combined.
Here are the keepers:
“Pyro”
“Pony Up”
“Back Down South
“Mary”
and the weirdly addicting
“Celebration”.
The rest of the album is worse than the worst on the Old 97’s -it is horrid. And it peaks nowhere near as high as Taylor.
But five songs isn’t bad going at all for the worst band on the planet.
