Although I share your disdain for the rock hall, I must begrudgingly admit that the induction ceremonies have made for some of the best rock and roll TV moments ever.
This years nominees have set up for some tantalizing possibilities. We know we are gonna get blown away by the Stooges, but will we finally see a full blown Genesis reunion with Gabriel? Maybe a duet of “Carpet Crawl” with Phil? We know Collins is officially retired from drumming because of a degenerative spine thingy, so somehow he and Peter would have to share the vocal duties. No problem for me as Phil sung harmony with Peter on a whole host of tunes, more than people may realize. “I Know What I Like (in your wardrobe)” perhaps? I could live with that.
On the other side of the coin, ABBA has not performed in ANY capacity in almost 30 years, im guessing. Will Benny,Bjorn,Annafrid and Agnetha all put aside their personal differences and finally treat us to one final glorious set? The possibilities boggle the mind. Either way i’m pumped for “Search And Destroy”.
