Thinking of Versa Manos made me think of Paul Finn of Kingsbury Manx.
Finn is the owner of Odessa and has been consistently kind to Rock NYC, going out of his way to contact Titus Andronicus simply because we asked him to and in return we ignored his band Kingsbury Manx’s current album Ascenseur Ouvert. And we are still going to do so though a first spin of their 2005 The Fall Rise And Fall is very impressive. Nessing would love these guys and I’m gonna send him some tracks to test run. I love em as well: a sorta pastoral pro-rock, not as far gone as Midlake but, to my mind, more accessible. It is very lovely music and I love it. I’m afraid i’m gonna hafta be asking Paul to set up a talk with Kingsbury Manx.
