Kid Cudi has broken with his managers and record company Dream On.
This comes on the heels of his disastrously received and sincerely bewildering last album,Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager.
I really didn’t like the album but in retrospect, I was probably expecting something he wasn’t trying to provide. I was reacting to requirements that he had no interest in.
Cudi said of the split: “Dream on is over, new label announcement soon.
“Pat and Emile are doing their own thing, I wish them well. I have a diff vision, for music, for the world. I’m just doing the right thing, I come from a different place. People lose sight of the mission.
“Can’t expect everyone to be built like me. When people have different visions, you gotta go your own way.”
It should be interesting to hear what he does next -interesting but probably not popular.
