Yup, now it no longer matters, Katy Perry has joined Yoko Ono as one of those who loves all things Oasis. In India for her engagement to the highly promiscuous, estremely addictive, and all round wacko Russell Brand, Katy said this: “I’ve met Noel Gallagher a few times but we haven’t been in London a lot recently. I’m a big fan of Oasis, though I don’t know the catalogue front to back.”
OK, not much of a quote but at least it gives us yet another chance to teach you the facts of Oasis.

All HUGE albums, essential must buy, gimmes. Especially the first plus EPs and B-Sides. All three could use a Box Set treatment. There are so many great songs floating around that need to be put in one place. Especially the Whatever (EP) with the epic epic epic epic “Listen Up” . Also, they have to find a place for “Round Are Way” -putting to the lie to Noel can’t write a lyric “the birds sing for ya, because they already know ya…” I dare you to listen to this and not singalong. I double dare ya.
Everything else is pretty awful. A complete fall from grace.
I saw em loads of times live and Blur coulda wiped em off the stage in their sleep. I only saw em nail it twive. Once, Noel’s solo acoustic gig as part of the Beastie Boy’s Tibet benefit and once, for no reason I can figure, at the Hammersmith Ballroom around Be Here Now they blew the house down. But Liam is a crap front man, an egotistical, surly dickhead who doesn’t have a enough of a presence to carry the band and Noel does NOTHING to help.Last time I saw em, 2008 I think, I walked out half way through.
