Kaiser Chiefs Are Just Like You Only Complete Morons: Reject Bowie Lyric
I saw Kaiser Chiefs open for MCR a coupla years ago and they were terrific and I like both of the albums I've heard.
But what the hell? Songwriter Nick Hodgson contacted Tony Visconti and asked if Bowie would write the last verse for a song called "Man On Mars" -presumably some sort of reference to "Life On Mars". Remember "Life On Mars"? The TV series was named after it. I bet you nobody is naming even a toothbrush after the New Kaiser Chiefs song but Nick still turned down the lyric.
Nick said :I'm such a big Bowie fan I can't believe I'm saying this, but they just weren't right, so I've missed out on a Hodgson/Bowie writing credit. Gutted!"
Gutted? He sure should be. This is an act of such stupendous stupidy it boggles the mind. He turned down Bowie lyrics??? I don't care if David Bowie wrote the alphabet, sing the sucker. What a moron.
Incidentally, Tony denied it, which means Hodgson is a liar as well.
