As months go, 2011 had plenty of personality. Defined by a death, of Amy Winehouse, and a birth, of Spotify US, there was warm weather here in New York, plenty of out door concerts, lotsa new releases, and, er, plenty of indoor concerts as well.
Concerts, you say? Rita Indiana at Summerstage and Paul McCartney at Yankee Stadium were easily the highlghts.
Albums? Colbie Caillat didn't quite maintain but was pretty good never the less, Dolly Parton rocked me out big big big time, Winnie the Pooh is big time fun,.
On the track front, Sloan's "Unkind", Sly Stone and Bootsy Collins "Fun In The Summertime", Modern Huts first release "Wrong" and "Life", and Wild Flag's single break up the rear of a fairly good month.
