Jo Dunne Of We've Got A Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use It Dead At 43

I was so sad to hear of Jo Dunne of We've Got A Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use It's death at a ridiculously young 43 years of age.

She was the guitarist and lead songwriter of the simply aweinspiring 1980s band, I interviewed em for Creem and promised the US that the wildly eclectic and joyous and very very punk poppy jump up and down and roar band., they didn't but not because I was even slightly wrong but because you were imbeciles.

At the interview they were completely delightful, and though I never saw em live, it is obvious from the live album, they were just as great. There is an explosive color and bop to them, I guess they reminded me of the Rezillo's only boppier and of course fuzzier.

They reunited for a tour in 2010 that promptly sold out the UK but didn't make it Stateside and mores the shame.

Not much makes me nostalgic and just about nothing makes me miss the 1980s (a nightmare of a decade for me) but this does, I really enjoy musical innocence and there was something so easy and warm  hearted about Fuzzbox..

Jo is the one in the shades in this pix and I am so sorry for her family and friends and for me. They just don't get this good. And I really was right, they really ere the most fun in the world. What a crying shame that somebody who brought so much fun to the world should die so young.
