Jimmy Page Solo Tour In 2013

Expect a 2013 solo tour from one Jimmy Page, a guitarist. Due to Robert Plant's intransigence, the opportunity for Led Zeppelin to reform came and went with just a lousy live album and video to show for the efforts. According to Page himself, he wanted to tour in 2007 but Plant was busy with Alison Krauss. Proof that Plant is a strange one.

Interviewed by Guitar World, Page said: "This time last year I intended to be actually playing by now in a live outfit. So that will have to be postponed now into sort of next year, tail end of next year. But I definitely want to be doing that.''

He also said that there was pressure to reform Zep without Plant: "'Jason, myself and John Paul Jones felt it was the right thing to do to go in and start playing new material and see how we were getting on.'There was talk about bringing in some other singers, but that would have changed the character of what we were doing, and done it rather suddenly.'There was a lot of … I won't say pressure but a lot of hinting about 'this singer and that singer.' And for me, it was more about, 'Let's see what we can really do.' But I don't think we really got a chance to do that.''

They could have called themselves Led Revolver.

Though it just shows how hard it is to continue when you lose you lead singer, even for the biggest of em. (PS: the pix is of Page and his 14 year old girlfriend, Lori Maddox back in the 1970s)
