Jeeves Superstar? We Should Be So Lucky…

Yes, I live such a huge cultural life I have actually seen (and own the soundtrack to) “By Jeeves”. So let me whinge, the ending sucked, and  let me commend, ”Travel Hopefully”
I’ve watched Jeeves and Woosters in lots of diffient circumstance. The mid 60s b&w is # 2, the one with Ian Carmichael,  # 1 -the original, the stuff he wrote it prison after the Nazi’s took over France,  that’s the best of the best.
Webber’s and Alan Ackroyn’s “By Jeeve”, except for a pathetic ending? Not bad.
Why am I telling you this? Because Jeeves and Jesus have a lot in common and Webber plans to make a real Jesus christ Superstar travelling company for 2011: “I will know in about February if it’s going to happen. Every major artist I’ve spoken to has said they want to be in it. I’m not going to name names, but I’m getting demo tapes from some of the top artists in the world. It’s extraordinary. We want to play 200 arenas in America and they are planning the route for the U.S. tour already. Then, hopefully, there will be a world tour.”
I would love to write more about Wodehouse, but I will wait for another excuse.
