It’s All AboutThe Mash Up Shuffle by Woody Fuller

1. How Long- Ramona. This UK band, who you should look out for coming to the U.S. soon, are great. The soulful Karen Anne on vocals is quite mesmerizing, dragging any one listening into the song.
2.Groove Me feat. Theophilus London (Alex Metric Remix) – Maximum Balloon. Wonderful upbeat, dance song. Theophilus London is great BK emcee, check out his Whitney Houston, Always Love U remix. Went to Webster Hall a few weeks ago to see him, but i unfortunately, ( fortunately) got stuck at this awesome dance/rave in the basement and therefore missing his set. But when you are immersed in lots of fog dancing on stage with a rando you’ll never see again, too much passion to leave. Oh well, all’s well, that ends well. Back to song.. very groovy, great song, keeps you moving while listening. I would love for mystery girl to groove me while listening to this song.
3. Monster – Kanye, Rick Ross, my main man HOVA, Nicki Minaj. Great to hear Kanye, with some harder stuff, always love hearing Jay-Z on any track, and word on street is Jay-Z will be doing CD with just Kanye. That will be dope, those two will go down as top dogs in rap game of all time, Jay-Z already there, Kanye well on his way.

4. The entire “Mix Your Face Mixtape” – TRV$ and DJ am. In case you were unsure, TRV moneysign is actually Travis Barker, who has been flooding youtube with videos of him rocking the shit out of the drums to any and every song, ranging from Soulja Boy, ( who i HATE, but like what Travis did to his shitty song) to Shwayze to Flo Rida. Travis Barker is awesome, surviving a plane crash, along with DJ am, and came back strong, spreading his sick drum skills around the world. He is dope and shit, and this mix-tape that mashes together 30+ songs into one fluid mix incorporating Barkers talent as drummer with DJ AM’s as a producer. R.I.P. to him btw. After surviving original plane crash with Travis in September of 2008, he ODed at his apt in Aug of 2009, word on street is he was set to fly about a week earlier, freaked out, and didn’t get on his plane, same plane would up crashing also. Holy Shit right? Must have had some final destination thoughts, and took too much whatever about a week later. Bottom-line a very energetic, get you in the right mood, perfect combo of rock beats, hip/hop, and classic good songs, all thanks to DJ AM talents producing skills and Mr. Barkers arms.
5. 99 Problems- RJD2. I really like jay and will more likely then not listen to and like any remix of any of his songs. RJD2, who i actually aren’t the biggest of fans, but he did a very interesting thing to this hit of “Black Album.” Off his own cd “Silver Album”, probably the best song on it, by adding his own flair of electro beats created quite a good remix, and still better then 99 Problems off “Gray Album”.
6.Lebanese Blond- Thievery Corp. I love this song. Where are you my Lebanese Blond? In Lebanon maybe? Great middle eastern vibe, like most of their songs, this one always puts me in that special, nothing matters mood, which is fun, leaving me dying for some belly dancing lessons. Or at the very least to put on some cool Thawb, which is an ankle length garment, similar to a robe.
7.Lodi Dodi – Slick Rick & Doug E. Fresh. I don’t think I have ever shared with the online world my tremendous love for this song, defiantly one of my favorites of all time. Keeping it original, fresh, and raw. Doug E. Fresh beatboxes creating the beat, and unlike most rap songs now, Rick has no hook, and raps his story with out much break. Children’s Story is also another great.
8. In 4 The Kill Pon De Skream – Major Lazer/La Roux. By the list I am creating, it looks like I’m no longer listing to originals and leaning towards mashups, and remixes. But this one is really great, and so is the entire CD. Reminding me that we’re doing it for the kill, doing it for a thrill; whatever your personal ‘kill’ might end up representing.
