I was speaking with my employer, Larry Miller, who owns the advertising company I’ve worked for the past quarter of a century, about my review of the band Larry’s nephew promotes Wicked Liquid.

Larry told me he went on my site to read my review but couldn’t understand a word I was writing about.

Made me wonder.

Have we rock nycers become so insulated in our world that we are writing for a hardcore pop fan base to the exclusion of all else?

Here is what I wrote: “Rock can survive without state of the art but disco and hip hop thrive on big BPMS and infinite dubs.” That doesn’t sound so obscure to me, I mean it’s kinda self-evident, right?

Perhaps I shoulda spelled out beats per minutes

I dunno, perhaps writing a music blog assumes a lot from its readers or perhaps we need to be clearer because when we people don’t understand a word we say…
