A Muse is a Greek Goddess that inspires literature, science or the arts. They used to be the story tellers of poetry and myth. In later times it was basically a chick that inspired an artist or writer.
The word Muse no longer has a Goddess as its first visual, rather an English band who since 1994 have been an vital cog in the alternative rock scene. Similar in aura as Radiohead but just a smidge less annoying. Also lead singer Mathew Bellamy can stand very still not like Thom Yorke who is nothing but a pixie stix fueled epileptic on espresso. Seriously wtf is up with that dude someone get him a shot.
Anyway another difference and well somewhat of a confession. I like Muse. I love how their music seems to rise in energy- consistently. You think it’s just a croon but then it becomes almost a march. The tune “Invincible” is a great example of this. A great song a really great song from a great album.
Also it just so happens that their latest single “Madness” is being called their greatest tune ever. That’s some hefty action.
But this is Saturday Night Live so something has to be horrible. God save us from this awful crap. The humor is more dried up than a prune Danish in the bakeshop backroom.
So tonight for the first time I am turning to Muse to inspire ME to stay up and watch this crap….leggo…
Iman's spin? ' The album is a woolly prog rock album, but this song links U2 back to Prince. Matt has the coolest guitar on Earth and the song is both subdued and anthemic. Good performance.'
Two thumbs up.. woot!
Iman: The second song is even more Prince-y, the great "Panic Station" and yes, please inform Larry Graham, the bassist is playing slap style. I kinda wished they're progged out with "Supremacy" or "Survival" but, hey, this should push the product to the top of the pops.
