Ian Astbury is acting like he still has a career.
Lead singer and former hotcake of The Cult apparently now sits on his ass and complains about people As you and I know already that job is already taken.
By me.
But he is bitching about American stars for not stepping up to sing for The Doors of the 21st Century – and has called out Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam and Perry Farrell of Janes Addiction.
I’m sure they feel really bad about it too, I mean who wouldn’t want to pretend to be Jim Morrison in a pseudo tribute band?
Quote Astbury;
“There wasn’t a single American singer who stepped up to the plate and said: ‘I want to do this. I’m an American artist – I demand to do this,” He tells the HeraldSun. “Not Eddie Vedder, not Dave Grohl, not Trent Reznor, not Perry Farrell. Not Scott Weiland. Not one of them stepped up and fought for it. When The Doors needed that generation to surround them and support them, the cupboard was bare.”
Perhaps the reason non of the aforementioned artists participated is because they still have viable bands?
Dear Mr. Cult
You haven’t done anything but mow your lawn and bitch and pretend you were Jim Morrison since you released Born Into This, in 2007. Oh oh and the ‘TBA in 2010’
So shut the fuck up.
Love
