How Did Marilyn Marilyn Manson Become Obsessed With an ex-baseball star turned bad boy, who still thinks he is the shit -by Alyson Camus

Marilyn Manson, the gothic-iconic-devil-worshiper singer (I once saw on Beverly boulevard, wearing heavy make-up during a hot day, and hanging out with his then girlfriend Rose McGowan) is a super fan of ‘Eastbound & Down’. In the HBO series, Danny McBride is playing an ex-baseball star turned bad boy, who still thinks he is the shit.
Co-director of the series David Gordon Green declared: ’Yeah, Marilyn Manson, he’s fucking obsessed with the show. He goes so far as to dress up like Kenny’
Adam Bhala Lough, who is directing Manson as the leader of a death metal band in the upcoming gore-horror movie ‘Splatter Sisters’, also said ‘Whenever I see Manson, he’s repeating entire chunks of dialogue and dressed like Kenny’.
Interview magazine even reports that Manson wants to kidnap Danny McBride ‘on some King of Comedy shit’.

Like everyone else, I have found it odd. I was kind of imagining Manson as a sort of intellectual of the dark side, with projects like the one about Lewis Carroll that Helen Bach mentioned a few days ago. How did the king of the macabre become obsessed with an overweight-jersey-wearing-big-mouth loser?

May be they both like to scare people, in different ways.
May be it is just a publicity stunt, because ‘Eastbound & Down’ co-director David Gordon Green is also producing ‘Splatter Sisters’.
