Thirty years ago life was pretty simple. Going to school, hanging out with friends, jumping a train to The Village when parents think you’re at a slumber party…borrowing the car to drive to Boston to see a show at The Rat…erm…
and Bad Religion.
Personally I think we have all aged pretty well considering we weren’t the most cautious lot.
Run over to the Bad Religion website for the first single from their forthcoming cd “The Dissent of Man”.
The Resist Stand”, has the old school punk back beat going on but there is one little complaint. The lyrics are too clean. Almost sounding like a Saturday morning cartoon theme. Proof I was around when there were Saturday morning cartoons.
Lyrics are gorgeous, vocals pristine, too pristine. The inserted sing along seems awkward and dated.
But, I will love this.
This song will be played on maximum volume at commute time. And I will love it as soon as I get over the discomfort of clean punk.
