Comment: I got to hear the new Jahn Xavier album a week in advance of its release and it is an old fashioned album, filled with songs, ideas, all of a pice and a spiral. The Scott Severin is an oldie but new to me, the entire album its from, which dates from 2004, is very commercial except obviously not. Otherwise, the Mahalia tribute had me looking up two favorites which are real wows as well except, maybe her recorded music didn’t match her live performances.
