1. The One That Got Away – The Civil Wars – A complete nonbeliever in the band, I started streaming the new album on Itunes last week and was very impressed. This lead off song is delicate and harsh at the same time and the flip in the title is smart – B+

2. America – Modern Hut – Finally available everywhere, you as well can wow to lines like, “I wish I was more like April, less enabled but a little more stable” – A

3. Love Is War – American Young – Another country duo  and this is harmless enough pop – B

4. Promised Land Take 4 – Off the new Elvis At Stax –the opening is just classic – A

5. Tell Me where To Park – Brett Elderidge – Modern country by the numbers – C

6. Greater Than – Tye Tribbett – Way, way, way over the top Gospel. If I was god I’d feel faintly ridiculous – C+

7.  St. Louis Blues – While it is true this is a hard song to screw up, Hugh doesn’t come close. Maybe because he isn’t singing – B

8. Killing You – Asking Alexander – ordinary rabble rouser – C

9. Crashing Down – Kady Z – Pia Zadora’s daughter has a breathy, poppy feel to her on this average slice of product– B-

10. My Love is Real – Divine Fits – Spoon guys other outfits about as good as his main outfit – C+
