Have a campy day!

1. Winchester Cathedral – New Vaudeville Band – In the mid 1960s appropriating sounds from the 1920s was all the rage and here NVB sound like a time machine band with a foghorn, blaming an ancient building for the singer being stoof up at the alter – A-

2. Leader Out – Certain General – All angular artiness and deep distance post-punk funk shards. Great drummer – A-

3. Guess I’m Falling In Love – The Velvet Underground – Instrumental version performed in a garage parking lot – B+

4. Eat Sleep Rave Repeat – Fatboy Slim And Riva – The version here is a tribute but the original is completely amazing heavy house dream of rave – A

5. Bonfire Heart – James Blunt – I thought I liked this but listening to it for a second time maybe not so fast. His voice is really really irritating – C-

6. Words Of Love – Buddy Holly – I mean, really, the Beatles named themselves after your band? The way the lick dips wows me every time – A+

7. Porno – Arcade Fire – Escaped off The Suburbs – A

8. Avocado, Baby – Los Campesinos – I really liked it at first but every track is a deep album track – B

9. You’ve Got A Way With The Light – Maria Taylor – “… I’ve got the evening”. That works – A

10. Berzerk – Eminem – Looks like the best track off the newbie – A
