1. Lariat – Stephen Malkmus And The Licks – Sounds like a refugee from Wowie Zowie, all quirk and melody and none the worst for it. But it begs an answer to the musical question: exactly how much does Malkmus hate the rest of Pavement and also why does this sound like an influence on Vampire Weekend – B+
2. Pack Up – Eliza Doolittle – Really smart sample, rethink of a WW1 song, I haven’t discovered anything as smart on her new album – A
3. Early Roman Kings – Bob Dylan – It took a while to sink in but this now emerged as the classic on last years album, a blues banger – A
4. PYD – Justin Bieber – new style r&b track and very very good as well. Major featured artist? R. Kelly – B+
5. Power – Kanye West – The hook on this track is a real monster – A
6. There’s A Beast And We All Feed It – Jake Bugg – 60s rock and quite credible as well – B+
7. Second Bite Of The Apple – Beady Eye – It didn’t do much in the UK which is a surprise because sounds a lot like Oasis – B
8. Chamakay – Blood Orange – Gorgeous track, much of that due to Chairlift’s Caroline Polachek’s back up singing – A-
9. Blood On The Leaves – Kanye West – A highlight Tuesday night – A
10. Runaway – Kanye West – His greatest song though he still doesn’t get it right on stage – A+
