1. Hush – Eliza Doolittle – Not the keeper on the new album but still pretty damn good, a lovely, frustrated ballad – B+
2. Messed Up Kids – Jake Bugg – As good as “Two Fingers” , same strong melody but more powerful performance – A
3. You’re Not Good enough – Blood Orange – Dev Hynes channels Prince’s falsetto on a superb soul track – A
4. Old Time Rock & Roll – Bob Seger – Classic rave up, and he makes his point even if he’s wrong – A
5. Shine A Light – Beady Eye – Always looking for trouble, Liam makes a comparison his songwriting can’t cash in, but still this has a nice little motor sputtering along – B
6. Suspicious Minds – Elvis Presley – Presley’s singing here is astonishing, he seems to build in a heartache, a tear, a sense of impending loss, in every word – A
7. Tryin – Gross Ghost – I think I’ve reviewed about half the songs on this album and so far this is the best –which makes a complete melodic gem – A
8. I Got You Babe – Sonny And Cher – One of the great love duest. Is there a couple in the second half of the 20th century who haven’t sung this to each other –I mean, in the US of course – A+
9. Blood On The Leaves – Kanye west – A good psychiatrist might conjure West’s mothers name for this song – A
10. Take A Bow – Madonna – Her most beautiful song, it is like listening to cream curdle. Babyface helped but it is pure Madonna – A+
