Is there anything more exciting than seeing a band live in concert just as they're breaking?
I have a tix for fun. And they are at # 1 in the singles chart, plus they're really good so I am really, really thrilled about it.
I remember a couple of years ago deciding to pass on Lady Gaga at T5, she had just hit big and I don't know why I chose not to go, probably out of hatred for T5, but I blew it off and now I regret not seeing her at that stage of her career.
Obviously I've seen many, many bands very early in their career, from the Sex Pistols (before Sid Vicious), Elvis Costello (before the Attractions), X-ray Specs (with Lora Logic), Grandmaster Flash, Diana Krall, Prince, cyndi Lauper, Blur, Oasis… Geez,I could go on and on.
Always, there is that’s ense of being in at something very exclusive, just getting out, about to change the world. It is a terrific feeling even if the band isn't all that great.
That's the great thing about any sold out shot, you're there and everybody else is elsewhere.
So I will be having fun. Just as they break. Not only will I learn the true story of the band but I will also be at ground, not zero but maybe ground three, for them. If they become really big I can say, unlike like Gaga, I knew them when…
