Hank Cochran, co-wrote “He’s Got You”, “I Fall To Pieces” Dies Age 74

The world can’t afford to lose the Hank Cochran’s of the world.
The country great behind # 1 hit singles, Patsy Cline’s “I Fall to Pieces”; George Strait’s “Ocean Front Property”; “Set ’em Up Joe” by Vern Gosdin; “Don’t You Ever Get Tired of Hurting Me” by both Ray Price and Ronnie Milsap; and “He’s Got You” by both Cline and Loretta Lynn, not to mention signature song, Eddie Arnold’s “Make The World Go Away”, died last night at the age of 74.
Washington Post reports of Mr. Cochran “He arrived in Nashville in 1960 and got a job as a staff songwriter with Pamper Music for $50 a week, hired by country singer Ray Price. Shortly after that, Mr. Cochran helped Willie Nelson get a songwriting job with Pamper. “
There is a story of Owen Bradley singing “I Fall The Pieces” over the phone to Patsy cline who couldn’t here it at first before Bradley, the great producer, hushed her with “This is your next hit.”
When it came to Cochran, they were all our next hits.
