Once a huge band from the 80s and 90s, now a band that went up in flames (literally) and never actually recovered.
The band formed in 1980 by friends Jack Russell and Mark Kendall. The band went through numerous band members, but Russell and Kendall always remained intact.
Their biggest hit was “Once Bitten, Twice Shy”. It’s one of those songs, that when it comes on, you have no choice but to crank it up. Just a great loud, feel good driving song.
The band had other hits as well including “The Angel Song” and “Rock Me”
Unfortunately, tragedy struck on February 20, 2003. The band just started playing their opening song at The Station in Providence, Rhode Island when the pyrotechnics being used ignited and the whole place went up in flames. 100 people were killed in the fire, including guitarist Ty Longley.
After that incident, the band has never been the same. The events that happen that night will always haunt the band, and will always be mentioned when someone talks about Great White. It is just the way it is
