I'm totally not the only one who grew up loving Good Charlotte, so when I saw they released a new music video I had to check it out.
It's for their song "1979", which I love. It sounds like classic GC, but they've grown up from their angsty-teen, punky sound into a more mature resonance, but it still packs a punch. It's a catchy tune, and I replayed it easily ten times. It's nice and a good summer song. It's calm, but will totally be on my party playlists. It almost has that mellow-but-not-tiring feel a lot of Mayday Parade songs have.
The video suits the song really well. It feels like a walk down memory lane. GC realizes they've been around for a very long time, and it's about time they look back on how far they've come. Though it's a laid back, simple and plain video, it really accentuates an equally simple song to match. It has an old school feel, that takes me personally back to the time when I first heard of Good Charlotte.
Good Charlotte is reminiscing and taking their fans right along with them.
