 Alan Myers – Known by his fellow band members as the human metronone, Devo drummer put that robotic thud on to their biggest hits like three kinds of drum machines rolled into one. Between their vision of Devolution and the robots on hell schtick, a great drummer was central to what they were doing. Alan died of brain cancer. he was 58 years old.

Bobby “Blue” Bland – The outcry of grief over the death of this most soulful of blues singers has been overwhelming. The “Sinatra Of The Blues” was one of the greatest singers of his generation T try “Two Steps From The Blues”.

Sam Most – You don’t think of the flute when you think of jazz. Folk, yes, jazz not so much. Most was the most important glautist in the 1950s, where he played with the Buddy Rich band and was a session player for all the big blues label. He died on pancreatic cancer at the age of 82.

Bruno Bartoletti – Was the conductor and Artistic Director with  Lyric Opera of Chicago,for over 600 performances.

Filip Topol – The Czech leader of rock band Psí vojáci, he came to the attention of the Czech at the age of 14 (yes, that is FOUR TEEN) partially because his father was a writer and dissident. In 1989 Psí vojáci became a full time band. They mixed jazz, punk, gypsy -with a touch of Zappa. He was 48 years old.
