I don’t always agree with New York Daily News Chief Music Critic Jim farber but I always trust he has an informed opinion. Farber’s review on Bon Jovi’s “The Circle” in today’s Daily News is the way newspapermen nail music reviews. Two stars, a more than smart reference to Bon Jovi being eligible to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame next year, and then he creamed the piece of crap with one to the mush: “Banished are the band’s jokey styles of old, like the mock kiss-off “You Give Love a Bad Name” or that ultimate summer sing-along, “Livin’ on a Prayer” (though, for commecial purposes, one song does repeat that hit’s burping hook). In their stead, we get nonstop, brow-furrowing odes to “faith,” “hope” and “redemption,” each framed by the band members’ growing awareness of mortality.”
This cat knows his stuff.
