Readers might remember I was raving about the former bass player for punk rockers God Hates Kansas Doug Keith’s song, “The Lucky Ones” a coupla months. It is a wooly keyboard powered folk rock and a bit of a surprise but not an unpleasant one. Doug has emerged as a folk rocker slash singer-songwriter of serious substance.
The Lucky Ones, the album, will released next Tuesday March the 30th, with a party at Mercury Lounge (is there a better place to see a concert in the city? maybe Joe’s Pub). The doors at 730p and opening is the legendary Doug Gillard who I know from the great Death Of Samantha and, also, Guided By Voices.
