Join us on Thursday April 14, 2011 at 7 pm in the Library of the General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen of the City of New York for our new cultural series, Muse & Music. Endeavoring to go beyond the mechanics of writing a song, the aim of Muse and Music is to have the artist discuss the trade, craft or passion that touches their muse and inspires their music.
Our performer will be Geoffrey Wilson of the band Jus Post Bellum, Latin for "Justice After War". Geoffrey writes and performs songs he calls "historical fiction" which emphasize the individual while taking inspiration from thepeople, places and events of the Civil War era, be it Yankee, Confederate, tradesman, farmer or mother.
Guest host Iman Lababedi, rock critic and editor of www.rocknycliveandrecorded.com, will lead the discussion with Geoffrey to explore the inspiration for his music.
