From The Land Of Ice And Snow: The Songs Of Led Zeppelin By Helen Bach

I do love cover songs.  What exactly is the difference between a cover song and  a ‘tribute album’?
I do believe “From the Land of Ice And Snow” is a Tribute.
Since I am not a huge Led Zeppelin fan I can go in without any preconceived notions or bar of expectation.  I am familiar with the songs.  I can even sing along on some, but I am not steadfast in what they ‘should’ sound like.
So I can speak more objectively than a hard core Zep fan who most likely hates this-
I like it.
Some of the songs suck, I wont kid you. But some are quite beautiful.
As long as you have a fast forward key you should be OK.
There are a billion tracks on it too.
“Hey Hey What Can I Do ,by Wienland is cool, Lana Rebel doing “Black Dog”made my eyes bleed.
Pellet Gun, “Rock and Roll” was awesome.
Best was Buelton, “Misty Mountain Hop”.
A truck load of bands I have never heard of.
So if you’re looking for something familiar (Zep) with something you’ve never heard before (the artist in tribute) this is a good investment.
