From A Kid Rock to A Man: “Born Free” Reviewed by Todd Leibowitz

The Kid becomes a Man!
As any Kid Rock fan knows, all of his albums are a mix of heavy rock n rap songs, with some acoustic tunes sprinkled in.
This time around, Kid Rock, mellows on his screaming, and starting on his strumming of the acoustic guitar. This new album is packed with just chill out acoustic rock music. Some songs are slower than others, but the whole album is great. Even though, he doesn’t rap at all on this one, he does bring it up a notch or two and creates some really great rock tunes.
Kid Rock pretty much made the album that we all been waiting for. He is a great story teller, song writer and singer. This could bring Kid Rock into another direction in his musical career.
Kid also brought in some great guests on this album. Sheryl Crow duet on “Collide”, on the same track, Bob Seger plays the piano. Also the great Zac Brown makes a guest appearance too on “Flyin High”.
My favs so far is “Born Free”, “Show My Roll” and “Care” (featuring Martina McBride and T.I.) I think “Care” is going to be a huge hit for Kid Rock. Just a prediction.
Check out these lyrics for “Care”
I pray and pray for life’s salvation
Faith is tried and true in tribulation
Love is lost and lonely, check the news
And with these open arms I’ll wait for you

Cuz I hear screamin on the left, yellin’ on the right
I’m sittin’ in the middle tryin’ to live my life
Cuz I can’t stop the war
Shelter homeless, feed the poor
I can’t walk on water
I can’t save your sons and daughters
I can’t change the world and make things fair
The least that I can do, the least that I can do, the least that I can do is care
All in all, just a great southern-rock based, bit of rock, bit of country album.
Unlike the Beatles now, you cant buy Kid Rock albums on Itunes. Pick it up at your local record store, Kidrock.com, or Amazon.
Enjoy!
