For Science are the poet laureats of heart break. They are the Buzzcocks to Titus Andronicus’ the Clash of the 00s (and maybe the teens).
On two albums of flawless power punk they write one mini-pop symphony after another and never falter, never get it wrong. As happy to write songs in the one to two minute range as any band since the early Beatles or the early Ramones, there is a giving over to one explosion of melody after another.
And rock nyc can not find em.
We know they’re part of the Don Giovanni scene, New Brunswick, New Jersey scene, but that’s about it. Their myspace is baffling in its uselessness. No live dates anywhere.
I contacted Joan Hiller Depper of riotmedia but apparently she doesn’t rep em.
I contacted Jarrett Dougherty of Screaming Females and finally daylight. The blokes who run Don Giovanni Records are the same people as those behind For Science!!
I know Helen agrees with me that one of the best punk so if we can figure out their story one of us will write it.
