Fan Dies at Warped Tour in Toronto

Usually all you hear about from people you follow on Twitter or Facebook about Warped Tour is how awesome it is and how much fun they’re having.  Yesterday, July 15th, inToronto, Canada, there have been reports of a fan dying.

Supposedly during Chelsea Grin’s set, a girl fainted due to dehydration, and was unresponsive. The Monster Energy Stage, which Chelsea Grin was playing on, was shutdown for the rest of the day because of the event.  Fans at their set who witnessed what went down say that CPR was performed on the girl, but it was unsuccessful.

A few years ago, at Projekt Revolution, I passed out due to dehydration.  Luckily I was wheeled backstage to the medic tent in time to get enough water back into my body.  Dehydration is easily overlooked and is more common than you think.  The past few yearsI’ve gone to Warped, I’ve made sure both my friends and I were safe.  Here are some signs of dehydration so you can know when you’re in danger:

Trouble concentrating
Fatigue
Black spots in vision
Weakness
Nausea
Paleness
Tingling in limbs
Dizziness
Short, rapid breathing
Numbness

This is a sign at the least to keep as hydrated as possible not only at your local Warped Tour, but during the summer.  Don’t forget to refill your water bottles and stay safe.  Occasionally make sure your friends are drinking water as well.

Condolences to the girl and her family and friends, and hopefully the rest of the tour goes smoothly
