You may remember I was at the Fallon show when Justin Timberlake and Jimmy performed History Of Rap Part Two but that's not the only reason, Part two was the "Empire Strikes Back" of their histories. Part one lived up to its title and part two filled in the wholes: both were essentially in sequence. But part three was essentially odds and sods with no connecting concept except you knew em.
Kathleen Perricone of the New York Daily News broke down what precisely they were rapping as follows: "Beginning with Run-DMC's "King of Rock," Fallon and Timberlake worked their way through a string of favorites, including LL Cool J's "Mama Said Knock You Out," De La Soul's "Me, Myself and I," Sir Mix-a-Lot's "Baby Got Back," Young MC's "Bust a Move," "Today Was a Good Day," Beastie Boys' "Sabotage," Kanye West's"Stronger" and Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass."The two ended the performance with Naughty By Nature's "Hip Hop Hooray" and lead the audience in a sing-a-long of "hey, ho."
