Playing my mother’s stereo in the living room was a definite no no and I accepted that until she played Buddy Holly’s “Every Day”. Then, when she would go outto the grocery, to dinner, to anywhere I would sneak into the glass cabinet pull out the CD, pray nothing would break and sing- that song made me so damn happy.
