Andy Hurley (ex- Fall Out Boy drummer) is in a new band called Enabler. They are currently streaming a new tune called "Speechless". They're releasing a full length album this summer titled All Hail The Void. I didn't know what to expect from Enabler, but it certainly wasn't what I ended up hearing.
This song was anything but what I anticipated. Expecting a mellow rock hipster indie ballad, I found myself hearing a hardcore song. The intense guitar and bass totally thew me off guard, and the vocals were strong and powerful. It's almost reminiscent of the older punk scene, which I like a lot. What really makes this song stand out to me is the drumming. Hurley is extraordinarily talented and I'm glad he still gets to show that off in this new band; he's one of the best drummers of all time. It's nice to see that he's still persuing music, too, and being very successful.
Though the tune isn't exactly my style of music, it's good. Especially since they're new, I believe that the hardcore scene will welcome them in and they'll be filling venues in no time.
