Emii at Stevestock, Don Hill’s Wednesday, June 16th, 2010: Rock And Raaar by Woody Fuller

A coupla hours before Emii took (over) the stage at Don Hill’s last night, she said she wanted to see me front and center : “a friendly face”.
She shouldn’t have worried. The audience at SteveStock2010 adored her, I loved her, even Steve himself, the promoter of this excellent show case for emerging bands, said solo pop artist Emii “stole the freakin’ show!”

Emii, visiting from Los Angeles with a distribution deal from Universal in  pocket,  really rocked it, with an excellent stage presence and control over the crowd. To my surprise, she turned my date, Heather Hurley, into a complete dancin’ machine. And Emii did this without benefit of a full band (two backing tracks handled most of the sound).
Not only does Emii have some astounding sex appeal herself, but her seductive on stage performance along with her soulful voice, were a great 1,2 punch. Speaking of punches, her even sexier tattoo, of a tiger and dragon gracing her arm, is symbolic to her by means of her dedication to the martial arts. Raaarr!! Not only can Emii kick ass on stage, but with her skills in Karate, Tae Kwon Do, and other arts she would surely kick yo ass in a heart beat. Luckily, her laid back attitude on life and her “marriage to music” keeps her tame.. most of the time. She won’t bite ya.. too hard.
Look for more Emii to come, rock nyc has an interrview to be posted at some point and as she has been tearing up the radio across the country, including KISS FM in Chi town, and her heat seeking missle single “Magic”, a real club thumper,  is tearing up dance charts and was quite groovy to hear live.
