Have you tried requesting additional information under the Freedom of Information Act?
The means by doing this varies depending on the region and facility you go through whether it be courts or hospitals or medical examiners. But I think if you are persistent with LAPD and the correct medical examiner’s office, you could get more information about his death. Maybe they blow you off (even his family wasn’t allowed to see the post-it note) but remember you have the right to send as many requests as you can I would volunteer myself to help out with this.
Consider it a series of written protests until you get answers or action.
At the very least, you could annoy a few cops who probably should have done their jobs better. There is a chance you could get more bits of information, stuff that might seem like meaningless details to others but might be really important evidence. I have a feeling this is all going to come down to the little things. I’m sorry for pestering you. This was something I have been meaning to suggest for a while, but I wanted to do some research in media law in California specifically first as I am not familiar with the laws in that state. I am sorry for taking up your time if you have already tried this.
I am sorry for everything. You obviously know who I am know. Let me know if there is ever anything I can do to help.
I hope you know the only reason I said anything is because I believe what you are doing will get the case re-opened and I want people to take you seriously when that happens. I really don’t give a damn about commas but I know judges, prosecutors and legal loopholes do.
I know you don’t give a fuck, but thanks
