Elementary Auditorium Named After Michael Jackson: Bad Taste Or Worse -by Alyson Camus

When he was a little boy, Michael Jackson was a student at Gardner street elementary in Hollywood and the school named its auditorium after him in 1989. However, at the greatest despair of his fans, the name had been covered since the 2003 child-molestation case.

But Jackson’s fans rejoice: this week, after a campaign by a facebook group, Michael Jackson name was restored, and Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Ramon Cortines declared: ‘The sign is recognition of Michael Jackson’s musical legacy and contribution to modern culture.’

So despite all these child molestation accusations, Jackson’s name is once again associated with little children, I know that fans are gonna say he was acquitted, but do we know the truth behind these trials, which were such a media circus?
No, but something we know for a fact: Jackson, when he was past 40, had little children sharing his bed on multiple occasions.

Then there were the revelations during the trials, like the Jesus juice in diet coke cans, the Barely Legal magazines with his fingerprints and those of the boys, the masturbation stories told by the little boys,… Whatever happened, it’s freaky.

So name a street after him, name a park if you like, but an auditorium of an elementary school? Just bad taste. It’s like naming a synagogue after Mel Gibson or a shelter for battered women after Chris Brown.
