I found myself on the “Some Kind Of Awesome” website -which you gotta love if only for the the name, right?- and spent some quality time streaming their stuff.
Elastic Love – Christina Aguilara – With MIA, who is quickly becoming the Snoop Dogg of techno, everything she helps out on ends up sounding like her joint. I prefer this to “xxoo” or “born free’ but it isn’t an Aguilara song at all. Like “Woohoo” it is real good but Guilara has failed to assert himself on either.
Fireworks (Feat Alicia Keys) – Drake – I got dissed for not being a Dweezy boy the other day. I’d like to be, I like pop, but I sure ain’t hearing this dreary crap.
Light It Up (feat Jay-Z) – Drake – Is it too early to say I hate the new Drake album? Jeez, what drek this Drake is. And jay-Z just give him a line and he can write the worst rap you’ve ever heard. It isn’t me. I swear this is a dreary track, full of forboding, but it is going nowhere and jay-Z who really has forgotten how to erite a fucking rap though he can still flow. He’s like Sinatra when Sinatra was in his 70s -following back on technique.
Let’s Fall In Love (Feat Nas) – Estelle – Sure Some Kinf Of Awesome are quite right, it’s an “American Boy” soundalike but not worse for that. Estelle needs to up her material a touch, dump the rap, take a closer look at jazz. She is really good.
