“Eddie’s Teddy” by Dr. Scott: What I Am Listening To Right This Second by Iman Lababedi

Before there was punk there was glam and the glammest musical of all The Rocky Horror Show (I saw it in Chelsea, London in the early 70s).
This comes to mind because, well, if you put together Meatloaf and Teddy (as Helen did on her QVC post earlier today) you can’t help but start dacing to, no, not Meatloaf’s “Whatever Happened To Saturday Night” (“with Buddy Holly singing his very last song) but “Eddie’s Teddy” with Dr. Scott in a wheelchair and the ensemble singing along:
“When Eddie said he didn’t like his teddy you knew he was a no good kid
but when he threatened your life with a switchblade knife
what a guy
made you cry
and I did”
It is an uproarious song in an uproarious cult fave and has there ever been a sexier drag queen than Tim Curry as Dr. Frank ‘N’ Furter??
Let’s do the time warp again!!!
