The Drifters were a pretty cool Doo Wop sounding band who became most famous for “Under The Boardwalk” and “Up On The Roof” before Ben E. King went solo and they morphed into a 70s disco band inn the UK.
“Every Night is Saturday NIght” is a lesser known number from the 70s Drifters, but none the less great song of innocent love.
Something sorely lacking in current love songs is the simplistic compliment that made a girl go zing back in the day.
Really whats become of the love song? Its so much more complex as is the world I suppose.
Hearts break people are left saddened but the innocent new love feeling really should be paid tribute to more than it is.
The Beatles wanted to Hold Your Hand, The Drifters in this song say quite plainly that every day with the one they love is cause for celebration.
Pretty sweet don’t you think? Vocals were so well spoken and clear you can actually understand what they’re saying!
The drum bits are freakin awesome. The tin of complete lack
of bass just makes me want a soy malt.

I offer you this video in tribute to a great song, and some amazing pants.
Bands just don’t choreograph anymore
A shame really.
