Don Hill Remembered

As of April 1st 2011, I have been a part of some 75+ shows either as production mgr, tour mgr, producer, promoter, booking agent, or as Head of my 4TheLove Music Fests.

None stand out more in my mind more than the first music fest I hosted at Don Hills in NYC last August. Not only was this monumental for me in a first time entry into the music industry kind of way, but I also had the privilege of meeting THE Don Hill, owner of the Cat club and his namesake Don Hill from the 90s to today…. and NYC rock scene legend. He was very down to earth, had love for each artist that was gracing his stage, and was happy to have a hardworking guy like me out hustling in the new music industry he helped pave the way for.

"To Woody, Best of luck" is how he signed the festival poster which currently hangs in my room.

As of April 1st 2011, Don Hill left us for Rockers Mansion in the sky, where Cobain, Hendrix, and others will greet him with open arms. They'll have a lot to talk about atleast.

This is no April fools, though I wish it were.

R.I.P. Rock in Peace Don.  You single handedly sent me on a one way path into the music biz. You told me some real shit, inspired me to follow my passion, and housed the first ever 4TheLove Music and Arts Festival.

We thank you.
