For a music blog that spends most of its times in nightclubs and music halls, we sure don't make many friends. For one thing, we don't want to and for another people don't like us.But one guy we've loved from the get go is Don Giovanni's Joe Steinhardt. After picking up the For Science album Tomorrow's Just Another Day, almost randomly, I convinced Helen Bach to track down the leader of the band, and we did, and we have been buddies ever since.
Joe let me hear the demos of his current band, Modern Hut's eagerly anticipated debut album, appeared in a rock nyc commercial (which never saw the light of day), dedicated a song to rock nyc at For Science's brilliant reunion concert in February and has given us access to anything and anyone at Don Giovanni just for the asking.
He also introduced me to the woman who inspired some of the most devastating heartbreak songs ever sung, written by Joe himself. Her name is Stephanie Gokhman and after breaking young Joe's heart he won her back and now Stephanie is his fiancee. Did I say fiancee? WIFE!!!!
On August 5th, Joe and Stephanie got married and it is hard to think of a sweeter couple or two people more worthy of happiness. Joe And Stephanie Steinhardt? Works for me.
They went to Iceland for their honeymoon and I will foreswear the tip of the iceberg jokes and just say, Stephanie is waaaaaaay cuter than Joseph!
