Jackie Leven was the leader of the much loved New wave band Doll By Doll, who, along with the Only Ones, with whom he shared a taste for heroine, heralded the end of punk and the return to hard rock.
I mention the heroin because Jackie formed the Core Trust charity to help people with drug problems.
Doll By Doll -a mix of rock and r&b,sounded like a throwback to Graham Parker. Three albums and really good.He had a marvelous rock and roll, like a strong Costello.
Sadly, Jackie Levin died of cancer last week.
