Whether it was Ferris Bueller on a float in Chicago singing along to the Beatles version of “Twist And Shout” thereby begining Part II of the neverending Beatle revival or saving the Psycehdelic Furs from the slag hear of indiedom with “Pretty In Pink” or single handedly making Simple Minds Stateside career in “The Breakfast Club” Director John Hughs didn’t simply film 80s teen life he provided it with a soundtrack.

John Hughs died today at the age of fifty-nine. He’ll be missed…
